Keys, Rain, & a Fly

My sister went to Chicago again this weekend (and again did not visit Threadless ... sadness). So it turned out to be another week of work ... and nothing else. *laughs* I did, however, watch a friend's puppy. His name is Henry.

I had some problems getting him from his home. Before I went to work, I stopped by and checked on him. After an uneventful night at work, I went back to pick him up and take him to my house. My sister had left several keys by the front door and having forgotten which one she had told me was our friend's key, I had to find out through the process of elimination. When I was there for the second time I had again forgotten which key it was. I must have been standing at the front door trying all the keys I had for half an hour before the neighbors came out and started videotaping me! May I also add that it had been raining at least half the time I was out there? I called my friend to see if she had a spare key. No luck. I then start thinking to myself that I must have locked it in the house when I was there earlier that day. I call my parents and work to see if I left it at either place. And guess what? I didn't. I empty my bag in the car and tried all the keys I found in there again. I go home and empty the same bag and what would you know? It was right there.

By midnight I finally had Henry and was home. For dinner I made some pitas (courtesy of Katie Walker. Check out her blog at http://countrygirltocareerchef.blogspot.com ). I filled them with sour cream, avacados, cheese, and rice. Mmmm ... delicious. *smiles* Try some! Muahaha!
I closed Saturday night and I just want to tell everyone who comes in 45 minutes to close with a group of twenty people that I CAN'T STAND YOU - I may even loath you a little bit. Everyone please, try and understand that just because a restaurant is open til midnight does not mean that it's a good time for you to show up. Also, the next time you are there I will gratuity you. Yes, even you who just ordered a coke ...

While serving some customers at work, I was about to give them some celery and bleu cheese. As I grab the dish, I see something moving in the bleu cheese ... there was a fly stuck in there! All I could think of was, "There is no way I am going to be able to hide that and get them a new one!" Thankfully, they weren't paying attention, and I managed to hide it. *smiles* Don't let this dissuade you from coming to BWR. *laughs*

This has been adventures of Average Girl.
Your's truly,

Average Girl

  2. *laughs* I forgot to say that I did manage to take it back and get them a new one without them noticing anything. They DID NOT get the one with the fly in it. Don't worry, I won't serve something like that to anyone. *smiles*

  3. Lol. I was thinking that is kind a gross if they did get the one with the fly in it. Now I won't be as scared if you are my waitress. :-)
