Leaving Biola ...

Well, I have been at Biola for about a month now. It really doesn't seem that long ...

Week one:
(August 20th) I am leaving for my flight at three. My parents are going to be picking me up and droping me off at the airport. I am too nervous and excited to sleep, and I'd like to sleep during my travels anyways.

It's a longer drive than I remember. Perhaps because now I am trying not to fall asleep. As we get closer, my nervousness increases. After saying my goodbyes to my mom, dad, and brother, I start working my way through airport security.

Six O'clock am. I am in the air and heading towards Cleveland, Ohio. It's a short flight, and when it's over, I walk straight to the next airplane gate that will take me to Los Angeles. Waiting, I read a book and watch the sun rise.

The flight from Cleveland to L.A. is a long flight - maybe it just seems long because I am getting sick, I haven's slept since the yesterday, and people seem like they want to be loud just because it's not a night time flight. But who knows? I am happy they serve breakfast.

The landing seems a bit scary, but it's a safe landing, and now I head to Biola University.

I am left alone here to figure everything out.

(The rest of the week) I have found that I eat twice as much as most people here, unless they make a lot of trips back to get more food, hmm ... I have also found out that the dorm I am staying in is the "geek's dorm," and I like it here.

A huge group from Biola went to the beach. They played a game called Savage Women - a game where the men link together and the women have to pull them apart. There were so many people gathered in this circle, that it looked to me like we were looking in on a fight. When they were done, they were covered in sweat and sand. I was pretty glad that I only watched.

(After the first week) Once classes started, I got real busy real quick. I made some friends, did my school work, and enjoyed being back in California =]

However, I am withdrawing from Biola for financial reasons. I'm sad to go and leave all these people who have become my friends, but I am excited to see what God has in store for me. *smiles* I'll keep you posted ...
